Kaars, candle by Blauwe Beker, £10
S/S/A/W RECOMMENDS: Blauwe Beker
Blauwe Beker launched in May with a small capsule collection designed by RCA Sculpture graduate Alexandra Strachan. The sneak peek is enough to convince me that there are more great products on the horizon, now I am well and truly hooked. Take a moment to evaluate not only the new products but consider the impressive styling and the colour palette which appears across the board. The initial range is only available to be ordered via email at present with the online shop coming soon.
S/S/A/W favourites from Pretty Dandy
Becky Morris Knight is the proud owner of boutique online store Pretty Dandy based in Nottingham. Her mission for the company is to help people bring out their creative side in their home, to build a unique, inspiring interior that makes them feel good every time they put the key in the door. S/S/A/W/ loves Becky’s enthusiasm, the carefully curated mix of vintage and modern accessories such as the drink coasters printed with Heroes of the Torah and the wooden studio shelf.
Alongside her retail venture Becky launched #Dandy chat every Wednesdays at 8pm on Twitter to fuel her first love, which is interiors. Here creative types can discuss the hottest topics in design to their hearts content and just so you know the chat instantly trended on Twitter during the maiden voyage. Definitely one to watch.
PRINT AND MORE PRINT:
Coinciding nicely with launch of their magnificent Paisley Crescent and Buddha of Suburbia ranges, I officially appoint the cult label Mini Moderns as ‘Store of the Week’. A visit to this ‘Shoppe’ will take you back to an era when cd players didn’t exist and you had to record the Top 40 tunes on cassette recorders. Nostalgia rules and for retro prints so do Mini Moderns.
S/S/A/W favourite: the ‘Whitby print’
Bookmark or visit this great store for beautifully crafted traditional hardware objects that are not mass-produced. Founders Rachel Whyte-Moran and Simon Watkins have religiously sourced authentic crafted pieces where imperfection adds character and interest to the timeless pieces they sell.
